Your relationship with me doesn’t have to end with your presentations.
If you are taking part in, or involved in the planning of your company’s conference, meeting, seminar, etc., I can help. PowerPoint presentations really have three components. I call them the three Ds (cute eh?): Development, Design and Deployment. You’ve used me for the first two, but what happens next? You pass it off to somebody, who then passes it off to somebody, who then passes off to some A/V guy, who is then in charge of all your hard work. Who runs your show? Who makes last-minute additions/edits to your presentation(s)? Do they know what they’re doing? My experience has shown me that it’s wise to have someone like me involved at all three stages, and here’s how it all works:
- Development - You and I discuss your needs and wants
- Design - I get busy building you a great presentation(s) for your conference that you’ll be proud of
- Deployment – I begin discussions with your audio-visual vendor (or I find one for you) to make sure they are aware of your needs – to make sure the proper equipment is in place. Then I attend your event to act as on-site operator. The A/V team does what they’re best at (and you can often get by with one fewer technician if I’m there) and I do what I’m best at. Your mind is at ease. No surprises. You have a PowerPoint designer, who is intimately familiar with your material, on-site to run the show, make last-minute changes (and make them properly) or additions, and to take care of any other presentation-related surprises that invariably come up at these events. This is the way many companies handle their events these days.
Remember, the three Ds
I’m starting to really like that. I think I’ll make a T-shirt.
As always, if you need me, give me a shout.
